Shimadzu Medical Systems USA releases the SONIALVISION G4 LX – 180 cm SID configuration

Shimadzu Medical Systems USA has introduced a new configuration for the SONIALVISION G4 (SVG4) universal digital R/F table system. The new configuration, known as the G4 LX, offers a 180 cm SID expanding Shimadzu’s RF product portfolio with an addition to an already high performing system.

With the 180 cm SID configuration, the SVG4 brings additional functionality for making chest exposures with the table in the vertical position. In institutions where only small rooms are available, the 180 cm SID is used for making chest exposures where RF exams are needed but the space is not available to add a CTM and wall-stand. The LX gives better utilization of an RF system for making radiographic type procedures and is designed to perform a wide variety of examinations like: angiography, endoscopy, video fluoroscopy for gastrointestinal series, swallowing exams, orthopedic exams, and general radiography. The system acquires high resolution images rapidly while using very low radiation dose levels. The ergonomic design is patient friendly and hygiene-focused and accommodates all sizes of ambulatory and stretcher/wheelchair confined patients offering workflow-efficiency features to help improve technologist productivity.

All SONIALVISION G4 system configurations combine a 17” x 17” flat panel detector (FPD) with Shimadzu’s next generation digital imaging platform. The ultra-small pixel pitch and high contrast maximizes the FPD performance and is easily switchable from large-to-small fields-of-view to cover a wide range of anatomical imaging, from finger tips to the entire chest or abdomen. Also, the larger 202.5 cm movement range of the SONIALVISION can capture images of the entire body without moving the patient.

When imaging in long spine and extremities, Shimadzu’s Breakthrough Technologies such as Slot Radiography is available as an advanced application option. With its lower dose profile and accurate measuring capabilities, Slot Radiography is an excellent choice for pediatric and orthopedic practices and departments. Shimadzu also offers large format Tomosynthesis on the SONIALVISION series which is ideal for clear visualization of bone around metal implants by eliminating overlapping structures. Patients can be imaged either supine or upright (weight bearing).

With special features for every type of exam, the SONIALVISION series helps minimize radiation dose exposure levels to the patient at every step. A seamless tabletop that can support a patient weighing up to 700 lb (318 kg) in the horizontal position for bariatric procedures offers easy cleaning and incorporates safety features to facilitate safe access and egress by patients. The G4 LX provides a productive and comfortable workflow to enhance convenience and operability for the technologists who use it.
