Shimadzu Medical Systems USA completes acquisition of California X-ray Imaging Services, Inc. to strengthen Healthcare Business in North America.

Shimadzu Corporation has made California X-ray Imaging Services, Inc. (CIS) the California Branch of Shimadzu Medical Systems USA (SMS), which is the medical systems business company of Shimadzu Precision Instruments, Inc. (SPI), a U.S. subsidiary of Shimadzu. SPI had acquired CIS as a subsidiary on April 1, 2024.

Shimadzu will strengthen its medical systems business structure in North America by integrating CIS into SMS and developing new products and services based on customer needs. Additionally, we will continue to expand our direct sales and service areas to improve profitability and contribute to the development of Shimadzu's healthcare business.

SMS provides sales and service for Shimadzu’s medical systems equipment in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean. The newly established California Branch (located in Vacaville, CA) will cover northern California and northern Nevada, and will leverage synergies with the SMS Northwest Branch, which covers the state of Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana, to develop direct sales and services to healthcare institutions throughout the West Coast.
